Ingredients
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts (such as pistachios and almonds)
- Combine ingredients: In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and ground cardamom until smooth and well blended.
- Add nuts: Stir in the chopped nuts, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture to add texture to your kulfi.
- Freeze mixture: Pour the mixture into kulfi molds or a suitable container. Cover tightly and place in the freezer.
- Set until solid: Freeze the mixture for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight until it becomes firm and solid like traditional ice cream.
- Serve: To serve, remove kulfi from freezer a few minutes beforehand to slightly soften. Unmold or scoop into bowls and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Use full-fat dairy for the creamiest results.
- You can substitute nuts with your favorite varieties or omit for a nut-free version.
- For a vegan version, replace condensed milk and cream with coconut milk and coconut cream.
- Cardamom can be adjusted to taste or replaced with saffron for a different flavor profile.
- If you don’t have kulfi molds, use popsicle molds or a shallow container and cut into pieces after freezing.
