Cookie Mixture
- 1 package (about 36) Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
Chocolate Coating
- 12 oz (340g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips, melted
- Prepare Oreo Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the finely crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Stir together until the mixture forms a uniform, thick dough-like consistency.
- Form Balls: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the Oreo mixture into 1-inch diameter balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up before dipping.
- Dip in Chocolate: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
- Set: Place the chocolate-coated Oreo balls back onto the parchment paper. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
Notes
- For best results, finely crush Oreos in a food processor or place in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Any type of chocolate (dark, milk, white) can be used for coating according to preference.
- Store finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Optional: Sprinkle crushed Oreos or colored sprinkles onto the chocolate before it sets for decoration.
