A delicious and easy-to-make Turkey Panini featuring sliced turkey, melted cheese, and your choice of mustard or mayo, grilled to golden perfection between buttered bread slices.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (your choice, such as ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 34 slices of deli sliced turkey
  • 2 slices of cheese (such as cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • 12 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mustard or mayonnaise (your preference)

Instructions

  1. Assemble the Sandwich: Spread mustard or mayonnaise evenly on one slice of bread. Layer the sliced turkey and cheese on top, then cover with the second slice of bread.
  2. Butter the Bread: Spread softened butter evenly on the outside surfaces of both bread slices to ensure a golden, crispy crust when grilled.
  3. Grill the Panini: Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in and press down (use a heavy pan or a grill press if using skillet). Grill for 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  4. Serve: Remove the panini from the press or skillet, slice if desired, and serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey with chicken or ham if preferred.
  • Try adding veggies like tomato slices, spinach, or roasted peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • If you don’t have a panini press, use a heavy skillet and press the sandwich with another weighted pan or foil-wrapped brick.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on your stovetop or panini press heat to avoid burning the bread.
