Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 1 batch of your favorite brownie mix or homemade brownie batter (approximately 1 cup peanut butter powder, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 2 eggs, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour)

Peanut Butter Layer

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 cup dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownie Layer: If making from scratch, combine brownie ingredients according to your chosen recipe and bake in a greased 8×8 inch pan at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Create Peanut Butter Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and milk until smooth and spreadable. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.
  3. Assemble Layers: Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the cooled brownie base, smoothing the top with a spatula for an even layer.
  4. Melt Chocolate Layer: In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt the chocolate chips with butter until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract if using. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly.
  5. Chill and Slice: Refrigerate the assembled slice for at least 2 hours or until the chocolate is set. Once chilled, cut into squares or bars and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the brownie layer is fully cooled before adding the peanut butter or chocolate layers to prevent melting or mixing.
  • For a crunchy texture, consider adding chopped nuts or crushed pretzels in the peanut butter layer.
  • This slice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or frozen for longer storage.
  • Use natural peanut butter for a healthier option, but this may change the texture slightly.
